Pristine sand, endless sunshine, a gentle breeze and the bluest, most clear waters you’ve ever seen.
This is what every traveller craves and expects when heading to the Caribbean in the winter months. Unfortunately, not every spot in the Caribbean offers the idyllic landscape we are all looking for. But I found one that does and it was perfect!
The Exumas are a collection of teeny, tiny islands in the Bahamas. Most are uninhabited and therefore make the perfect private island escape for tourists staying in nearby Nassau.
Powerboat adventures will snatch you up from downtown Nassau for a full day trip to the Exumas. You’ll spend your time relaxing on your very own private island (with nothing man-made on it except for a bathroom, the boat dock and a lunch area), exploring a gorgeous sand bar, feeding friendly nurse sharks, snorkeling around colourful coral reefs and visiting goofy little iguanas on another nearby island.
Leave your watch back at the hotel. Escaping to the Exumas is the perfect way to forget all your life’s stresses and let time stand still.
